Pushing the Holidays

Hey all,  is it my imagination or are the retailers really, really pushing the Christmas buying time earlier and earlier? I was in Walmart (the Redneck Macy's) trying to purchase a yardstick. They are playing holiday music and have completely rearranged everything to fit in more shelves of items for gifts and ended up finding the yardsticks in the Automotive Dept. Guess a yardstick doesn't qualify as a good gift. It's sad because Halloween hadn't been celebrated yet. I'm tired of our beloved holidays being so commercialized. It was bad enough to have Black Friday and not giving families time to enjoy the Thanksgiving weekend. Now, too many retailers are having their sales on Thanksgiving Day thus separating families even more. GIVE ME A BREAK! What do you think?
